Offer Description
Advanced Oxide Thin Films for Electronics and Optoelectronics
The research focuses on novel transparent conducting oxides (TCOs), semiconductors and other advanced thin-film materials. It combines thin-film preparation with electrical, optical and structural characterization to understand relationships between synthesis conditions, composition, microstructure and functional properties, and to develop materials for electronic and optoelectronic applications.
The fellowship will take place at the Department of Physics/NTIS (https://ntis.zcu.cz/nanomat) of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (University of West Bohemia in Pilsen), one of the top technical faculties in the Czech Republic. The faculty operates a European Centre of Excellence "NTIS", and the fellowship is a part of the project "Quantum Materials for Applications in Sustainable Technologies", funded as project No. CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004572 by Programme Johannes Amos Comenius, call Excellent research. The Department of Physics is particularly recognized for its pioneering achievements in the field of magnetron sputtering.
The main tasks will be to research novel TCO materials and related oxide semiconductors, prepare thin films, and characterize their electrical, optical, and structural properties. Key responsibilities also involve planning and performing experiments, analyzing data critically, and contributing to collaborative research, and the development of new research directions, as well as publishing and presenting R&D results.
