"Advanced Practice Professional (Nurse Practitioner) D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion: Cardiac Intensive Critical Care Area"

This is an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) job opening for qualified NP or PA applicants in the cardiac intensive critical care area at the D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.

Under physician supervision, the APP will direct and coordinate care for adult patients, including NSTEMI/STEMI, advanced heart failure, pre- and post-heart transplant, and mechanical circulatory support.

Duties include: completing detailed histories and physicals, daily progress notes, streamlining patient transfers, discharge orders, primary Code Team Coverage, collecting and interpreting diagnostic reports, ordering tests/prescribing medications, presenting data to medical staff, performing procedures like point-of-care ultrasound, arterial line placement, central venous catheters, and NG tubes/dobhoff, conferring with physicians, maintaining documentation, and adhering to policies.

Requirements for Nurse Practitioners: Current RN and NP licensure in Michigan, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP certification, graduate of an accredited program, NCSBN certification, DEA registration, BLS and ACLS certification, and 1 year of relevant APP experience.

Requirements for Physician Assistants: Current PA licensure in Michigan, NCCPA certification, completion of an accredited PA program, State Controlled Substance License, DEA registration, BLS and ACLS certification, and 1 year of relevant APP experience.

Additional preferred qualifications include procedure experience, Rapid Response/Code team experience, proficiency in hemodynamic assessment and ECG interpretation, cardiology certifications, and strong communication skills.
