Adversarial goal recognition and ambiguous policies

About the Project

These projects are open to students worldwide, but have no funding attached. Therefore, the successful applicant will be expected to fund tuition fees at the relevant level (home or international) and any applicable additional research costs. Please consider this before applying.

Adversarial scenarios (such as games) offer unique challenges where understanding and predicting opponent moves can be critical. In this project, we delve into goal recognition techniques to discern the strategic objectives of adversaries within such environments. We aim to build goal recognition approaches that either rely on data (machine learning approaches), symbolic descriptions (goal recognition as planning), or a combination of both (neuro-symbolic approaches).

This project aims to create strategies to cope with observations and predictions of other agents, developing strategies that take ambiguity into account.

Informal enquiries can be made by contacting Dr L Amado (leonardo.amado@abdn.ac.uk)
