Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington are recruiting for an Adviser, Campaigns to join the newly formed Takitoru - Communications, Marketing and Digital Engagement Group on a permanent, full-time contract.

As an Adviser, Campaigns, you’ll play a key role in delivering creative, multi-channel campaigns that make a real difference—whether it’s attracting future students or strengthening our reputation. This is an opportunity to combine your organisational skills and marketing know-how in a role where collaboration and innovation are at the heart of everything we do.

Following a reorganisation to form an integrated team, we are excited to announce several key roles. The group will play a pivotal role in enhancing the University's reputation and supporting its strategic goals through targeted, innovative, and effective communications and marketing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively across teams to help develop, deliver, and monitor multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinate campaign calendars and workflows to ensure alignment across portfolios and functions and campaigns are delivered to deadline.
  • Prepare and organise campaign content that is compelling, accessible, and audience focused.
  • Liaise with external suppliers, agencies, and media partners as required to support campaign delivery.
  • Provide campaigns advice and build strong, collaborative relationships with faculties, central units, and external partners.
  • Collect data and assist with the monitoring and evaluation of campaign performance using analytics, KPIs, and audience insights.
  • Support with the reporting of campaign outcomes and identifying opportunities for optimisation and continuous improvement.
  • Support the wider Marketing and Digital Engagement team as required.

You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual who can take the initiative, provide excellent marketing and communications advice and support to colleagues and teams.

You will thrive in this role with an excellent manner with people, an ability to influence and manage multiple priorities, strong attention to detail, and self-management skills. This role is busy, extremely rewarding and interesting for someone with a background in marketing, looking for that next step.

Key requirements:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, media, or a related discipline.
  • At least 2–4 years’ experience in supporting or coordinating multi-channel campaigns within a complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to coordinate integrated campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels.
  • Demonstrated experience in content coordination and creative collaboration across internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and build effective stakeholder relationships.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a university, tertiary, or public sector environment.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation and analytics platforms (e.g., Marketo, Google Analytics, Siteimprove).
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusivity principles in digital marketing and communications.
  • Understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equal employment opportunities, and the principles of health and safety.
