Make a difference in the academic journey of future nurses! The College of Nursing is seeking an Academic Professional Advisor to guide and support pre-nursing and nursing students from recruitment through graduation, helping them stay on track and reach their goals. Working closely with the Director of Nursing Student Services, this position contributes to student recruitment, advising, and college events that promote a strong sense of connection and achievement. This position is located in Rapid City, South Dakota and is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with the Director of Nursing Student Services ( NSS ) to support recruitment and retention efforts that inspire future nurses to succeed.
- Meet with prospective students, conduct interviews, and assist with admissions and transfer credit evaluations.
- Provide personalized advising for pre-nursing and nursing students, guiding them through academic planning and graduation requirements.
- Review applications for admission to the nursing major and verify academic standing for financial aid eligibility.
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure clear communication with students and campus partners.
- Help coordinate student orientation and activities that foster connection within the College of Nursing.
- Collaborate with the Director of NSS and support staff to address student concerns and ensure follow-up.
- Work closely with the Registrar, Admissions, and Financial Aid offices to support student success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in counseling or field related to specific duties completed by date of application;
- At least one year of experience in Counseling, Advising, Education or other related field;
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills; and
- Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire and a willingness to travel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated experience with evaluating transcripts and new student orientation.
- Demonstrated experience with Banner Student or other student information systems.
