Advisor Breeding and Biotechnology WBSO
Job Summary: As an Advisor in Breeding and Biotechnology WBSO, you will stimulate innovation in breeding and biotechnology by assessing fiscal support applications and providing expert advice. You will collaborate with colleagues, share knowledge, and contribute to the Wet Bevordering Speur- en Ontwikkelingswerk (WBSO) to support research and development (R&D) in the Netherlands.
Responsibilities:
- Assess whether project proposals are technically new and advise on their approval.
- Guide entrepreneurs and subsidy advisors through the application process.
- Visit entrepreneurs to verify if project applications match practice and provide advice if needed.
- Discuss progress, bottlenecks, and solutions in a team to ensure quality and uniformity.
- Work closely with specialists in the Plant and Animal expert team within the Chemistry & Life Sciences department.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- At least HBO-level education, for example in breeding or biotechnology.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with current techniques in plant breeding, animal breeding, marker-assisted breeding, biotechnology, or production of plants and animals.
- Experience with research and development (R&D) and product or process development.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to explain assessments clearly in Dutch.
What the Employer Offers:
- Salary scale 10: €3,404 to €5,389 gross per month.
- A temporary employment contract for 1 year, with potential for permanent employment.
- 32-36 hours per week.
- Hybrid working options, individual choice budget (IKB) of 16.5% of gross annual salary, study facilities, full reimbursement of public transport commuting costs, and partially paid parental leave.
