Why your role matters

The Advisor, Learning Abroad plays a key role in delivering high-quality administrative and student support within the Learning Abroad team. This position provides efficient, day-to-day administrative assistance to ensure Learning Abroad services operate smoothly and effectively in support of the Office of Global Affairs.

As a student-facing role, the Advisor supports the coordination and delivery of UNSW Learning Abroad programs, responding to enquiries and assisting students throughout their program experience. The role reports to the Manager, Exchange and does not have direct reports.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Contribute to and maintain administrative and reporting procedures and processes for the Learning Abroad programs, including enrolment, transfer of credit, offers of acceptance, student records and compliance of administrative procedures and systems.
  • Provide advice and administrative support to students participating in Learning Abroad programs by responding to enquiries, providing information based on established policies and procedures, and escalate complex or non-standard matters as necessary.
  • Assist with projects and business improvement activities by providing administrative support and contributing suggestions to improve routine processes and customer service delivery.

About You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience. • Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in data capturing, analysis and reporting with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Power Bi.
  • Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
