RESEARCH LINE: Nitrogen fertilisation, GHG mitigation in the Mediterranean region and sustainable agri-food systems.
TASKS: Fieldwork, laboratory work, and processing of data generated during the former. Participation in international meetings. Drafting of scientific articles and reports.

Skills/Qualifications
Solid demonstrable experience in:
- Field measurement of greenhouse gas and nitrogen fluxes (e.g. static/dynamic chambers, micrometeorological techniques)
- Handling and curation of large volumes of sensor and monitoring-station data
- Efficient programming in R or Python for data management and analysis
- Knowledge of agricultural systems and the nitrogen cycle
- Management of maps using GIS (e.g. QGIS)
- Work within international standardized monitoring networks (ICOS-type)
Specific Requirements
Qualification: Agro-environmental Engineering, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Agronomy, Agro-environmental Technology for Sustainable Agriculture or similar.
- PhD in the agro-environmental area.
- Demonstrable experience in field research projects on nitrogen and/or greenhouse gases in agricultural systems.
- High level of English and Spanish, spoken and written (evaluable at all stages of the selection process).
- Ability to work in a team, within an international consortium.
- Availability to travel (visits to supersites in different regions).

Benefits
The selected candidate will join the CEIGRAM research team and take part in WP1 (Supersites) of AgNUE, participating in the research, training and knowledge-transfer activities carried out at the centre and within the project's international consortium. CEIGRAM, the Centre for the Study and Research of Agricultural and Environmental Risk Management, is one of the 21 research centres of the Technical University of Madrid. The hired researcher will benefit from training activities organised for all researchers and management staff, as well as from AgNUE's international research networks.
Eligibility criteria
SELECTION CRITERIA: EVALUATION ROUND 1: Percentage of the maximum possible total score (A+B+C+D+E+F+G+H/40): A) Education/Training (0: does not meet criteria / 5: fully meets criteria); B) Experience in field and laboratory trials related to the contract's subject matter; C) Skills in programming and managing large databases (0: none / 5: meets all requirements); C) GIS skills (0: does not meet criteria / 5: fully meets criteria); D) Knowledge of eddy covariance; E) Agricultural system modeling (0: does not meet criteria / 5: fully meets criteria); F) Specific requirements: languages, experience, other aspects to be assessed (0: does not meet criteria / 5: fully meets criteria); G) Suitability for functions, research line, and tasks = Average score (0–5) based on the degree of alignment between the CV and the desired profile; H) Class B driver's license (0: does not meet criteria / 5: meets criteria). --- Supporting documentation regarding qualifications may be requested. Candidates achieving a score of over 90% of the maximum possible may be invited to participate in EVALUATION ROUND 2: INTERVIEW.
