Your opportunity:
Under the general direction of the Director of Advancement, Faculty of Dentistry, the Alumni Engagement Officer, will promote alumni engagement opportunities to academic units, graduating students, industry partners and alumni at the Faculty of Dentistry. You are responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of alumni engagement activities and content for the marketing and promotional materials. As a member of the team you will play a critical role in supporting our value proposition with our donors and alumni, and strengthening the Faculty’s major gift pipeline.
This is a term opportunity ending July 2027.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing alumni engagement activities that support strategic objectives
- Assessing needs and contributing to the development and implementation of plans for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition
- Implementing programs that allow current students and alumni to engage with one another
- Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
- Promoting financial giving and volunteer service opportunities at the University
- Directing the work of volunteers in defined activities
- Occassonal overtime on evenings or weekends.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years experience in an Advancement role, preferably in Alumni Relations or events management role, with a proven track record of success in developing and leading multi-faceted alumni programs and/or marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Strong computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of MS Office Suite, email and databases.
- Exceptional relationship management and customer service skills.
- High level of attention to detail with superior time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to interact successfully with alumni, peers, volunteers, prospects, donors, staff and faculty.
- Ability to prioritize the management of multiple projects/events and meet prescribed deadlines.
- Professional presentation, demeanor and confident; able to establish credibility and trust quickly with internal and external stakeholders.
Assets (Nonessential):
- Familiarity with ARBOR or database management systems.
- Experience with Canva, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator or other create design applications.
- Experience with Mailchimp, Survey Monkey or other platforms.
- Experience with Zoom or other virtual meeting platforms.
- Content marketing experience.
- Email marketing experience.
