Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
As Alumni Relations Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering meaningful engagement initiatives that strengthen lifelong relationships between the University and its alumni, students, and wider community.
Working closely with the Alumni Relations Manager, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio that spans events, communications, and alumni engagement activity. This includes:
- Coordinating and delivering end-to-end alumni events, including planning, budgeting, logistics, and on-the-day delivery
- Supporting the delivery of multi-channel communications, including newsletters, social media, website content, and alumni storytelling
- Researching, profiling, and writing alumni stories and features to celebrate achievements and strengthen connection
- Using CRM/database systems to identify, engage, and reconnect alumni, ensuring data is accurate and effectively utilised
- Collaborating with colleagues across the University to align alumni engagement activity with wider institutional priorities
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where no two days are the same, requiring strong organisation, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
Mōu | Who You Are
You are an experienced coordinator with a background in events, communications, or stakeholder engagement, and you enjoy working in a fast-paced, relationship-focused environment.
You will bring:
- At least 3–5 years’ experience in event coordination, communications, alumni relations, or a similar field
- Proven experience delivering events and/or engagement initiatives, including planning and logistics
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content for different audiences
- Experience using databases/CRM systems to manage and extract information (experience with Raiser's Edge is advantageous)
- Confidence using digital platforms such as Microsoft Office, LinkedIn, and social media tools
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A relevant bachelor’s degree (NZQA Level 7)
- An understanding of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga and a commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your work is valued.
