Anatomist
The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY seeks applications for two full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions in medical education. The successful candidates will join a vibrant group of anatomy educators and contribute to the educational mission of the school’s medical and health professions programs in the areas of Gross Anatomy and Neuroanatomy. Teaching activities include flipped lectures, case discussions, team-based learning and laboratory activities. The faculty member is expected to support the curriculum design and delivery of anatomy content in the integrated, active learning-based curriculum.
Qualified candidates must have experience teaching Gross Anatomy with cadaveric dissection, preferably within a medical or health professions school, and have evidence of excellence in teaching. Additional knowledge and experience in Neuroanatomy instruction and dissection is desirable. Experience in instructional modalities that incorporate interactive learning, team-based, problem-based, or case-based learning is also beneficial. Ability to work collegially with a variety of faculty educators to develop interdisciplinary curriculum content is essential.
Candidates must have a Doctoral degree (MD, PhD, DO or equivalent). This appointment will be made at an academic rank commensurate with experience. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
