Angio/Interventional Radiologist
Job Description
The Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Maryland is recruiting an additional academic attending physician at an Assistant / Associate Professor level, appointed by the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Applicants should have a strong track record of academic excellence with an interest teaching and basic/translational and/or clinical research. The ideal candidate should be several years out of fellowship with track record/interest in grant/sponsored funded research and scientific publications. The Division will include nine full time attending physicians, ACGME-accredited integrated and independent IR residencies, and three full-time nurse practitioners. The academic faculty staffs three hospitals including the University of Maryland Medical Center, and a freestanding outpatient IR clinic. The range of procedures offered is broad, including but not limited to vascular interventions, full scope of oncologic interventions, advanced body interventions and men's/women's health interventions. Interest in musculoskeletal/bone pain interventions is desired. Programmatic development is expected. The Division has undergone a complete replacement of all interventional imaging equipment. The five state-of-the art suites at the University include three dedicated body interventional suites, two Siemens Zeego units, and a Canon Hybrid Angio/CT suite, and two additional Bi-plane Siemens suites are shared. The Division maintains a research coordinator and currently leads or participates in numerous externally sponsored research trials as well as defining internally funded projects. The department includes renowned imaging researchers with fully-equipped high-end imaging basic science laboratories in HSF3 building across the hospital and HIFU research/clinical unit. Research collaborations with our basic science faculty is highly encouraged. Research/academic productivity is expected for this position. The educational program includes dedicated teaching of medical students and residents.
