Job Posting Details

Responsibilities:

Animal care: Strictly adhere to facility standard operating procedures (SOPs) , and be responsible for animal feeding, water supply, and cage replacement to ensure animal welfare.

Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct daily health monitoring. If any abnormalities are found in the animals' health or problems are discovered in the facility's operation, report them proactively and immediately to the zoning supervisor or veterinarian.

Barrier Zone Management: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of the barrier zone, and ensuring that all equipment and cages are correctly labeled and of uniform specifications.

User Support: Provide assistance to users within the barrier zone and consult with the zone manager when necessary to resolve technical issues.

Cleaning and disinfection: routine cleaning and disinfection of operating rooms, instrument rooms and animal rooms; handling autoclaving, cage / water bottle cleaning and supply replenishment.

Personal protective equipment: Personal protective equipment  (PPE) provided by this center must be worn during work .

Requirements and Abilities:

Education: Holds Form 5 or equivalent qualifications.

Health status: No allergic reaction to animals (especially mice, rats and rabbits), and able to handle animal excrement and clean cages.

Physical fitness requirements: Possess good physical fitness and be able to move and handle heavy materials (such as feed, bedding and stacked cages).

Observational skills: Able to promptly identify and report any animal health problems or non-compliance.

Rigorous execution: Able to strictly adhere to SOPs and maintain standardized and organized work processes.

Communication skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills; fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Personal traits: cheerful, eager to learn, diligent, and views this job as a long-term career development goal.

Shift requirements: Employees must work shifts as instructed and take turns on duty during the day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays according to the duty roster.

 Those with experience in caring for laboratory animals, who have received basic laboratory safety training, or who hold a boiler operation license issued by the Labour Department will be given priority consideration .

Employment Terms:

The contract is for two years, with the possibility of renewal for high-performing employees. Employees are entitled to a completion bonus, medical benefits, and paid leave.
