JOB SUMMARY:
The SVSU Department of Music seeks an applicant to teach courses in the jazz area, including Jazz History (online) and Jazz Combos (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5- 7 p.m.). There may be opportunities to teach other courses in the candidate's area of expertise as needed. Online teaching training may be required before the fall semester. Candidates of any instrument are encouraged to apply.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in jazz performance or related field
- Experience and ability to positively interact with all members of the campus community
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with college-level jazz instruction
- Experience in teaching a wide variety of styles
- Experience teaching online
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Duties are generally performed inside and not exposed to adverse conditions.
- All work associated with this role must be performed within the state of Michigan.
