Apprenticeship Coordinator
Job Description
This is a grant-funded position, and continuation of employment is based on funding availability.

The Apprenticeship Coordinator plays a vital role in apprenticeship program support and growth in the region. This position involves promoting and expanding apprenticeship initiatives by collaborating with employers, academic Deans, and Workforce Development Directors. Key responsibilities include:
- Employer Engagement: Act as the main contact for employers, supporting them in program development and registration processes.
- Outreach: Conduct targeted outreach to both potential apprentices and employers to connect them with educational services related to apprenticeship-related instruction (ARI).
- Program Support: Provide technical and administrative support across all areas of ARI, ensuring smooth communication and record-keeping.
- Collaboration: Work closely with college faculty and staff to coordinate ARI scheduling and delivery.
- Research and Evaluation: Conduct research on best practices and regional workforce needs to inform program expansion and improvement.
- Customer Service: Ensure exceptional service to employer partners, facilitating institutional processes with minimal hassle.
By actively engaging with both candidates and employers, the coordinator contributes significantly to the growth and success of apprenticeship opportunities in the region.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Work-related experience, training, or education.
- Considerable prior experience developing or supporting apprenticeship programs.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of PC-based software, including advanced features of word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, database, and communication packages.
- Knowledge of apprenticeship program best practices and current topics.
- Knowledge of college training and education programs and associated processes.
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation.
Abilities
- Ability to effectively manage projects from concept development through program implementation.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, anticipate, and meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities.
- Ability to conduct research, draw sound conclusions, and report findings.
- Proven ability to work as a team player appropriately, exhibiting a positive attitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a diverse public, including the ability to draft reports and correspondence.
- Ability to provide effective customer service to diverse constituents, including students, college faculty and staff, employer partners, and external organizations.
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
Additional Considerations
Prior experience working in a community college or postsecondary institution.
