This position works in the Department of Urology. Its primary purpose is to treat patients both independently and as a team member with our Faculty. There are two primary practice locations: the USF South Tampa Center (STC) located across from TGH, and the USF Morsani Center (located on the USF campus). This position is to directly support the Recon Division of USF Urology.
Responsibilities
Clinical - Provide outpatient clinic care including evaluation of new patients, established patients and post op care. Obtain History and Physical Examination, order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic test/procedures in coordination with Faculty supervising physician. Manage medical problems; initiate, monitor and alter therapies; order diagnostic tests and prescribe therapeutic medications in coordination with Faculty supervising physician, fellows, residents. Regularly confer with faculty physicians regarding diagnosis, treatment, best forms of therapy, and alert physicians to abnormal findings. Return patient phone calls, respond to EPIC tasks and messages, renew prescriptions, coordinate rehabilitative therapy and assess post-procedure problems.
Coordinate full spectrum of patient care including patient education and follow-up care instructions and provisions for continuity of care after discharge. Provide pre- and post-procedure education, assessment and care of patients. Based on licensure and training, there is the possibility of performing routine urologic procedures in office. Documentation of all orders, procedures and progress notes within EPIC, USF's electronic medical record.
Administrative - Including but not limited to managing patient records and responding to patient messaging.
Other - Represent and support the mission, philosophy and goals of the Department of Urology. Participate in clinical and education objectives required for licensure, certification and credentialing. Responsible for assisting in development, implementing and maintaining established departmental and practice wide policies and procedures, including quality assurance, environmental, HIPAA, and infectious control regulations.
Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program and licensed in the state of Florida. General knowledge of urology preferred.
This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64.
