Representative Duties
The Architecture and Architectural Drafting program at Bakersfield College prepares students for entry-level employment and further study by integrating design fundamentals with technical drafting skills. Faculty teach courses in architectural design principles, building systems and construction technology, materials and methods, and applicable building codes and regulations. Instruction also includes architectural computer-aided drafting (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM), with an emphasis on producing industry-standard drawings and documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree(s) or higher and two years of professional experience OR Associate degree(s) and six years of professional experience. OR The equivalent.
A demonstrated sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning and service to diverse student population;
- Ability to effectively work with students with a wide range of skills, motivations, academic and vocational goals;
- Ability to develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities;

- Ability to maintain subject matter currency;
- Ability to assess student, program, and institutional learning outcomes;
