Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Area Coordinator (AC) & Case Manager is expected to be an active and visible member of our residence life staff with management and oversight of designated residence area(s). The AC will support resident student leadership opportunities through Residence Hall Association (RHA), National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) & other initiatives. The AC will participate in the administrative functions and efforts of Residence Life & Housing. As the supervisor of residential area(s), the AC will coordinate with other staff members in the Residence Life & Housing office on programs and events as needed. Further, they will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a living-learning atmosphere conducive to students' personal growth and academic achievement. Seen as a role model, facilitator, leader, and essential person in the development of an effective living-learning environment for student's experience. A successful individual will have the ability to work with a diverse population, able to adapt to change, and have knowledge of and commitment to maintaining a student development focus across campus. The individual will help shape the institution's vibrant living and learning community to help students build a sense of belonging to the College.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Assistant Director of Residence Life; indirectly to the Director of Residence Life.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Directly supervises a number of para-professional student staff in residence areas.

- Support the overall management of residence area(s) including but not limited to opening and closing the residence areas, key management, room changes, health & safety inspections, damage assessments and maintenance requests. This includes supporting the central office of Residence Life.
