Job Posting: Assistant Professor of Art History

The Art & Design Department at Central Connecticut State University is seeking an adjunct instructor with experience teaching art history survey courses.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Art History

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in Art History
• Evidence of quality teaching experience

Adjunct faculty typically teach one or two courses per semester in a 3-hour block that meets twice per week. Classes meet mornings or evenings to permit some flexible scheduling for adjunct courses on ground.

Duties include the following:

• Teaching Art 110, Art 112, and/or Art 113.
• Developing and managing course syllabi and ensuring that syllabi.
• Planning and creating lectures, discussions, and course assignments.
• Providing regular and timely feedback to students to promote student success.
• Ability to work with diverse students and colleagues and nurture inclusive classrooms.
• Submitting grades in a timely manner.
