Position Summary

The Department of Psychology and Education at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Psychology. The department is seeking highly qualified and motivated applicants who are committed to innovative teaching, research, academic advising and institutional and community service. The Psychology program currently offers a B.A. in Psychology and will be starting an MS in Clinical Psychology in the near future. Applicants should have a proven research track record. Expertise in Clinical Psychology or Experimental Psychology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach general psychology courses at the undergraduate and graduate level including research methodology courses (introductory and advanced).
• Supervise senior undergraduate projects and MS theses.
• Advise and mentor students and support student research and projects.
• Engage in service to the program, the department, the university, the profession, and the community.
• Additional duties may be set by the department in light of departmental needs and priorities.
• Conduct high quality research and publish in Scopus ranked journals.

Minimum Qualifications

• A PhD in Psychology from a well-recognized university.
• Evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate, and ideally graduate levels.
• Evidence of scholarship and research productivity.
• Evidence of an established research agenda.

Preferred Qualifications

• Evidence of successful innovative university teaching.
• Advanced knowledge in research methods and experience in working with culturally diverse populations.
• Evidence of training and experience in the application of advanced statistical analyses.
• Evidence of success in securing external funding for research.
• Licensed clinical psychologist.
• Focus on forensic, existential, social psychology, epidemiology, or organizational psychology is a plus.

The Department of Psychology and Education is an interdisciplinary department with faculty committed to high-quality undergraduate and graduate instruction across programs. Our department offers two undergraduate programs in psychology and education; one graduate program in Education. We also offer two Teaching Diplomas and a Diploma in Learning Disability and Giftedness.
