Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science and Mathematics in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in mathematics. The department is seeking highly qualified and motivated faculty members who are committed to research, innovative teaching, program development and academic advising.

Department Profile

The Computer Science and Mathematics is one of the 9 departments of the School of Arts and Sciences at LAU. It offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science, a B.S. in Bioinformatics, a B.S. in Mathematics, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Data Science and an M.S. in Computer Science. The undergraduate program in Computer Science is ABET-accredited.

Job Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Computational and Applied Mathematics (or a closely related field) from a well-recognized university. Documented excellence in research and teaching, along with strong potential to establish and sustain an independent research program, is required. Experience in grant writing, industrial collaborations, or interdisciplinary research is considered an asset.

While applications from all qualified candidates are welcome, the department is particularly interested in candidates specializing in one or more of the following broadly defined areas:

• Numerical analysis
• Optimization
• Computational mathematics
• Data-driven modeling
• Scientific machine learning
