Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science and Mathematics in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Computer Science. This is a teaching-track position with primary responsibilities in undergraduate instruction and student engagement.

The successful candidate will teach four (4) courses per semester across the Beirut and Byblos campuses, contribute to course and curriculum development, participate in program assessment, and support the student learning experience in and outside the classroom.

The Department of Computer Science and Mathematics is one of nine departments in the School of Arts and Sciences. It offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science, a B.S. in Bioinformatics, a B.S. in Mathematics, and an M.S. in Computer Science. Job Qualifications

• A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field from a recognized university is a must.
• A proven record of excellence in teaching at an American-style institution of higher education (or equivalent experience in similar international settings).
• Demonstrated use of modern tools and approaches in teaching, such as active and collaborative learning, flipped or blended formats, learning management systems, coding platforms, version control, and other technologies that enhance student learning.
• A strong student-centered philosophy, with evidence of effective mentoring, advising, and support for a diverse student body.
• Ability to teach a broad range of undergraduate Computer Science courses including labs and core courses in the BS curriculum, and readiness to teach on both Beirut and Byblos campuses.
• Excellent communication skills in English and a commitment to collegiality and teamwork within the department and school.
