Job Summary
The Department of Psychology and Education in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate in Education. The Department is seeking highly qualified and motivated faculty members who are committed to research, innovative teaching, program development, and academic advising.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Education, using innovative and evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning.
- Develop and deliver courses that contribute to the Department’s undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Supervise senior study projects, MA theses, and other student research.
- Supervise and support students during practicum and field-based experiences.
- Advise, mentor, and support undergraduate and graduate students in their academic and professional development.
- Establish and maintain an active program of research and scholarly publication in the field of Education.
- Seek external research funding and develop collaborative research projects with colleagues within and beyond the University.
- Contribute to curriculum development, program enhancement, assessment, and accreditation-related activities.
- Engage in service to the program, department, School, University, and the academic and professional communities.
- Contribute to the development of partnerships and initiatives with schools, educational institutions, and other relevant organizations.
- Participate in departmental and university committees and other academic activities as appropriate.
- Perform additional academic and administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Department in response to departmental needs and priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
- A PhD/ Ed.D. in Education from a well-recognized university
- University teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Proven research track record with publications in reputable journals (WoS, Scopus…)
Preferred qualifications
- Teaching experiences at schools (K – 12).
- Securing external funding for research.

The Psychology and Education Department is one of the 9 departments of the School of Arts and Sciences at LAU. It offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Education, a B.S. in Psychology, a Master of Arts (MA) in Education, a Diploma in Learning Disability and Giftedness, and various Teaching Diplomas (TD).
