"Ashby PhD Scholarship in Mechanics and Materials"

A competition for the fully funded Ashby PhD Scholarship in the area of Mechanics and Materials is now open at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge. The Scholarship, endowed in honour of Prof M F Ashby, is open to all applicants, covers the University fee for home or overseas students, and provides a maintenance allowance at the standard UKRI rate, currently £20,780 per year.

The area of Mechanics and Materials is interpreted widely, encompassing experimental, theoretical and computational methods. However, it is expected that the PhD will be supervised by a member of Academic staff working within the Mechanics, Materials and Design Group. The precise topic of the PhD and the Supervisor can be agreed after the Scholarship is awarded.

To apply for this scholarship please submit a PhD application via the University of Cambridge Applicant Portal (www.graduate.study.cam.ac.uk/courses/directory/egegpdpeg) by the deadline, stating clearly on the application that you wish to be considered for the 'Ashby Scholarship'. Please note that there is a £20 application fee.
