Offer Description
The Faculty of Medical Engineering is an interdisciplinary academic structure that promotes education and research in the fields of bioengineering, biotechnology and medical engineering within the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest (NUSTPB).
The Department of Bioengineering and Biotechnology carries out teaching and research activities at the interface between engineering, materials science, biological sciences and medicine, within both bachelor's and master's degree programmes.
The subjects included in the position are:
- Materials Science 3
- Fundamentals of Dental Medicine
- Microbiology
The position involves teaching activities consisting of laboratory classes, seminars and practical applications related to the subjects included in the position, as well as student assessment and academic guidance.
In addition to teaching activities, the successful candidate is expected to participate in research activities in the field of biomaterials and materials for biomedical applications, with particular emphasis on bioceramics, dental materials, material–biological environment interactions, biocompatibility and the interaction of microorganisms with biomaterial surfaces.
The successful candidate will also contribute to the academic and research activities of the Department of Bioengineering and Biotechnology and participate in scientific dissemination and other activities specific to the academic community.

Requirements
- Knowledge and practical skills in materials science, biomaterials, bioceramics and dental materials.
- Knowledge of the structure, properties and characterization methods of materials for biomedical applications.
- Practical skills in laboratory techniques for the preparation, processing and characterization of biomaterials.
- Knowledge of biocompatibility and material–biological environment interactions.
- Basic knowledge of microbiology relevant to biomedical materials, including microbial adhesion and biofilm formation.
- Ability to analyse and interpret experimental data and scientific literature in the field of bioengineering and biomaterials.
- Digital skills and good command of English for scientific and academic communication.

Approval by the Faculty Council of the Competition Committee's Report: by 20 October 2026.
Approval by the University Senate of the Competition Committee's Report on the outcome of the competition: by 22 October 2026.
