Assistant/Associate/Full Professor
Overview
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Construction Engineering and Management beginning Fall 2027. Applications at the assistant professor level are especially encouraged although exceptionally well-qualified applicants suited to appointment at the associate professor rank may also be considered. Candidates with research and teaching interests that align with the field of construction engineering and management and complement the existing faculty are desired.
Auburn University is a land-grant, Carnegie R1 institution located in east-central Alabama with an enrollment of over 30,000. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has 26 tenured/tenure-track faculty, approximately 700 undergraduates, and 140 graduate students, and offers B.C.E., M.S., M.C.E., and Ph.D. degrees. The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering at Auburn is comprised of eight departments and numerous research centers.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in construction engineering and management.
- Develop and lead an externally funded research program in construction engineering and management.
- Mentor and guide graduate students in their academic and research pursuits.
- Engage in service activities both within professional organizations and at the university level.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in civil engineering, construction engineering, or a closely related field at the time of employment. The selected candidate must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Strong written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
