Position description
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego (https://pediatrics.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are seeking physicians to join our faculty at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in our Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine.
The clinical practice provides consultative, evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally aware, and confidential care for youth aged 10-26 years in San Diego County. Clinical services include eating disorder management, comprehensive contraceptive services including placement of long-acting reversible contraceptives, medical management of menstrual and gynecologic disorders, STI screening and treatment, and mental health assessment with medication management. Division members work collaboratively across sub-specialties (e.g., hematology and endocrinology) to provide multi-disciplinary care for chronic conditions. The division is also responsible for outpatient services for the Center for Gender-Affirming Care, as well as the inpatient Medical Behavioral Unit (MBU).
The physician will be responsible for providing clinical care, both independently and in collaboration with trainees, as well as engaging in the development and implementation of successful educational, community-based, or advocacy programs within the field of Adolescent Medicine and other related fields. Additional responsibilities include educating and teaching trainees and clinical, translational, or basic science scholarly pursuits or research.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.
