of modern synthetic chemistry. Areas of research interest include, but are not limited to, the development of new synthetic methodologies, the design and synthesis of novel therapeutics, and investigations of drug interactions and disease mechanisms. Candidates whose research complements existing strengths at UH and across Texas, particularly in cancer and dementia, are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will establish an externally funded experimental research program, teach undergraduate and graduate chemistry courses, mentor students and researchers, and contribute to university service. This appointment is in Chemistry but is intended to support interdisciplinary research that leverages expertise and resources across multiple departments and colleges at the University of Houston. New faculty hires will have opportunities to collaborate with investigators affiliated with the UH Drug Discovery Institute, College of Pharmacy, the Multidisciplinary Institute for Neuroscience and Dementia, and other research centers. Applicants must have a PhD in Chemistry and postdoctoral or equivalent industrial or national-laboratory research experience is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong research accomplishments and the potential to perform independent, high-impact research. Candidates applying for appointment at the Assistant Professor level should arrange for three confidential letters of recommendation to be submitted and provide a research statement of no more than five pages describing their future research plans. Candidates applying for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level should submit a one-page summary of their current research program, highlighting major accomplishments, ongoing activities, and current funding support.
