Salary range: A reasonable salary range estimate for this position is $76,700 - $85,000. Position description

The University of California, San Diego, Department of Otolaryngology (https://oto.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff and student body and seeks to recruit Project Scientist(s).

The selected candidate(s) will be responsible for:

  • Performing studies and experiments related to the biology of head and neck cancer
  • Analyzing data and preparing presentations and reports summarizing findings
  • Providing onsite teaching to students in the lab
  • Generating independent extramural grant support
  • Contributing to the development and publication of high-impact research

Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, PhD or MD/PhD in Cancer Biology or a health related field.

Candidates must also have a minimum of five years of experience in the biology of head and neck cancer and head and neck cancer related research, including at least three years at the postdoctoral level or beyond.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates with experience in immunologic and related assays, standard molecular biology techniques, and a demonstrated record of developing innovative approaches in research are preferred.
