The Physician Assistant's Program at Mississippi State University's Meridian Campus invites applicants for a non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Teaching Professor. This role will be responsible for presenting lectures, laboratory instruction, guided small group learning, simulation development and grading assessments, and recruiting guest lecturers.
Salary Grade: UC. Please see the Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the implementation, evaluation, and revision of the didactic and clinical phase curriculum.
- Complete ARC-PA provisional accreditation tasks as assigned.
- Serve as course director for assigned didactic courses. The Program Director assigns all course directors.
- Collaborate among principal and instructional faculty to provide instruction to and assessment of students across courses.
- Develop and implement instructional content.
- Participate in academic advising of PA students.
- Participate in admissions process.
- Participate in laboratory instruction during the didactic and clinical phases of the program.
- Participate in student evaluation by grading written assignments, written examinations, OSCEs, practical skill competencies, oral presentations, or other assessment methods.
- Participate in faculty meetings and retreats.
- Participate in clinical practice or research activities depending on position (to be determined by the Program Director).
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity to be a role model for physician assistant students.
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.
The position reports directly to the Program Director. The Program Director annually completes a performance evaluation with input from the faculty and staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Degree from an accredited program for the respective medical provider field of practice such as PA, MD, or DO. Board Certified for the respective medical provider field or practice. Licensed or eligible for licensure in Mississippi for the respective medical provider field or practice. Rank and salary are commensurate upon education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree in the medical field or education with teaching experience.

Ability to exercise good judgement and discipline. Strong verbal and written interpersonal communications. Ability to efficiently and effectively work in a fast paced environment with multiple responsibilities. Ability to prioritize work load, meet deadlines, and foster a willingness to continuously learn and grow professionally to excel at one's highest capacity.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Work is primarily in a classroom setting with some clinical instruction required. Exposure to physical risk and physical effort as expected in a clinical setting.
