Assistant, Associate or Professor in Orofacial Pain
Job Summary
The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry is seeking applications for Assistant, Associate or Professor in the Orofacial Pain. This is a full time, 12-month assignment period, Special Title Series, tenure track eligible position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor. This is a Special Title Series position in the College of Dentistry, Department of Oral Health Science, Division of Orofacial Pain and the COHR. The faculty member will provide clinical instruction and supervision in the psychological assessment and management of pain for graduate students in the Orofacial Pain Program. This role adds a critical behavioral science component to the curriculum, enhancing students’ understanding of pain. The faculty member will also be responsible for developing a successful, externally funded research program and supporting the research training and scholarly development of graduate students in the College of Dentistry.
This position requires a PhD in Clinical Psychology or equivalent credentials acquired from a non-CODA accredited institution and successful completion of a two-year CODA accredited orofacial pain program. The candidate must be either board certified or board eligible in orofacial pain and be eligible for dental licensure in the State of Kentucky.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The faculty member reports directly to the Chief of the Division of Orofacial Pain (main report), as well as to the Associate Dean for Research. The duties of the position include:
- Provide clinical supervision for psychology graduate students in the orofacial pain clinic.
- Support the College’s mission and goals to increase research efforts in the COHR and collaborative efforts with other colleges as appropriate
- Assist faculty and residents in developing research protocol in the college.
SOURCE OF FUNDING
This position will be supported by the College of Dentistry and the Center for Oral Health Research according to effort distributions in these areas. Obtaining extramural funding is an expectation of this position for continued success at the Center for Oral Health Research.

- Strong potential for future research funding.
- Training and publications in area of chronic orofacial pain
