"Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Clinical Practice - Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, VAPSHCS"

The University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine has an academic anesthesiologist position available at the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Healthcare System at the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice, Associate Professor of Clinical Practice or Professor of Clinical Practice. This position is full-time with an anticipated start date of December 2025 or thereafter. This position is not tenure-track and not eligible for tenure. Duties include the teaching of residents, fellows, medical students and the clinical care team. The successful candidate will provide general anesthesia and/or pain services. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, scholarship and service. The initial appointment period will be three years with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). This position is paid directly by Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Healthcare System and receives no UW compensation.

Qualifications

Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and a minimum of one-year pain medicine fellowship training (or foreign equivalent) for pain position. Must be Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in anesthesiology and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens. Permanent residents may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
