SBASSE at LUMS promotes collaboration across life sciences, physical sciences, computer science, and engineering, providing exceptional opportunities for research and innovation. The Department of Life Sciences at SBASSE pursues research in diverse fields of Cell & Molecular Biology, including Cancer Biology, Genetics & Epigenetics, Plant Molecular Biology, Molecular Microbiology & Immunology, and Computational Biology. The department offers a rigorous and innovative academic program through two curriculum streams, i.e., Molecular & Cellular Biology and Computational Biology.

Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be expected to:

• Establish and lead an independent, internationally competitive research program,
• Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Biochemistry, Molecular & Cell Biology, and related areas
• Supervise and mentor students at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and
• Contribute to departmental and university service and outreach activities.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology or Cell Biology
• Post-doctoral research experience in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology or a related field
• Strong record of peer-reviewed publications with at least one first-author publication in a reputable journal (submitted or published)
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level is desirable
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
