These majors work closely together in STE and FCRR, so a collaborative orientation is desired. The candidate will be expected to maintain a rigorous grant writing and research program, including competitive externally funded research grants. The candidate will also teach undergraduate, masters, and/or doctoral level classes within their program, and train doctoral students through active participation in their research program. The candidate will also be expected to participate in university governance in the department, college, and FCRR, at a level that is commensurate with their rank.
The candidate will join an interdisciplinary group of colleagues and students at STE, Anne’s College, and FCRR. Drawing from multiple disciplines, FCRR investigates all aspects of reading and reading-related skills across the lifespan. Through rigorous and robust research, innovation, and engagement, FCRR advances the science of reading to improve learning and achievement from birth through adulthood. Meanwhile, Anne’s College advances society and enriches our community through the support of education as a public good, while enhancing the quality of life of all our students, faculty and staff. Through meaningful collaborations, commitment to public scholarship, and integration of research, practice and policy, Anne’s College addresses America’s urgent education challenges in the innovative manner characteristic of FSU.
