Assistant/Associate Professor Information Technology

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is the first national university specializing in academic applied, technical, and professional education in Qatar. It offers various programs across multiple colleges and focuses on student-centered learning.

The College of Computing and Information Technology invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor in Information Technology. Exceptional candidates at the rank of Full Professor will also be considered.

Responsibilities

The primary role involves promoting high-quality innovative learning, applied research, and service. Faculty members collaborate with the Head of Department and Dean to achieve the college's mission. They mentor junior colleagues and teaching assistants, and handle administrative and academic services.

Reporting to the Department Head, the successful candidate will develop, deliver, and evaluate courses in areas such as Computer Systems, Network Systems and Administration, SDN, Cloud and Edge Computing. Duties include evaluating student progress, managing resources, liaising with industry, participating in advisory committees, and controlling projects. Faculty must maintain course portfolios for accreditation and engage in instructional development.

Qualifications

Education: PhD in a computing field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology from an internationally recognized university, with an undergraduate degree from an accredited university.

For Assistant Professor:

• Minimum 3 years teaching experience in a post-secondary or industry training environment, preferably with 3 years professional experience in the discipline.
• Distinguished research record with high-quality publications.
• Excellent record of supervising research students.
• Demonstrated leadership in industry partnerships.

Preferred Qualifications: Professional certifications, diploma in education, 6+ years professional experience, teaching experience, and leadership in technology projects.

For Associate Professor:

• Minimum 8 years teaching experience, preferably with 3 years professional experience.
• Distinguished research record and leadership in partnerships.

Other Required Skills: Thorough knowledge of Computing and IT systems, commitment to applied learning, ability to design learning experiences using contemporary tools, digital literacy, and ability to initiate research projects.
