The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor Internal Medicine General Internist.
Role of the Position
The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, General Internist. The successful candidate will supervise internal medicine residents on inpatient medical service, ambulatory setting and engage in didactic teaching of students and residents.
Further, the faculty member will maintain a practice of internal medicine in which he or she directly delivers care to internal medicine patients, attends the inpatient medical service, and devotes time to scholarly activities.

Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a M.D. or D.O. from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and thus a Board Certified or Board Eligible within two (2) years of graduation.
Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada Medical License (Nevada Medical license must be secured prior to start date), malpractice insurance and must be able to be successfully credentialed by Southern Nevada teaching hospitals and clinics. Finalists may be subject to a background check.
The candidate's educational credentials, terminal degree, experience in an academic medical institution or equivalency will be considered in determining the candidate’s recommended rank. The SOM Faculty Appointment, Promotion and Tenure (FAPT) Committee will use the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV (SOM) promotion criteria to recommend the rank to the Dean of the SOM. Tenure considerations may be given upon hire on a case-by-case basis depending on verified previous credentials, the FAPT recommendation, and the SOM Dean’s recommendation.
