Assistant/Associate Professor - Medical Director: Inpatient Adolescent Unit

The Department of Psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine, seeks a board-certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to serve as the Medical Director for Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital (YNHPH) Adolescent Unit and Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine.
Yale-New Haven Hospital is the major teaching and clinical research facility of the Yale University School of Medicine and consistently ranks among the best hospitals in the United States. Yale-New Haven Hospital encompasses the Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital a 118 bed, acute care, psychiatric facility that consists of five main inpatient programs and several specialized step-down intensive outpatient hospital programs for adolescents and adults across two hospital campus locations and access to Interventional Psychiatric Services including ECT and Ketamine.
The successful candidate will be an inspiring and collaborative leader with a demonstrated ability to build and guide an inpatient team. They will have a strong record of partnership with nursing and social work leadership, hospital administration, and trainees. Working closely with hospital leadership, colleagues, and leading an interdisciplinary team with creativity and a clear strategic vision.
The position is as the Medical Director of the Adolescent Inpatient Unit (ages 13-18), which is a main teaching site for Yale Psychiatry Residents. The successful candidate will have completed a residency in psychiatry leading to board eligibility or board certification and will have also completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship in addition to being licensed (or licensed eligible) within the State of Connecticut.
This position carries a faculty appointment within the Department of Psychiatry at the assistant or associate professor level depending upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Yale University offers Yale Signature Benefits, including but not limited to:
