Assistant / Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology
Georgia State University is a national model for innovation and opening opportunities for all. The Department of Counseling and Psychological Services is searching for a tenure-track, assistant or associate professor in the Counseling Psychology doctoral program. Potential research and training interests might focus on themes such as multiculturalism, prevention science, career, or positive psychology. Candidates will advance a focused line of research with potential for external funding and teach master’s and doctoral level courses.
Required Experience: An earned doctorate from an APA-accredited program in psychology at the time of appointment.
Required Education: For Assistant Professor: No prior experience required. For Associate Professor: Minimum of 5 years of full-time teaching at the graduate level.
Preferred Qualifications: Active participation in research, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in Georgia.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Expertise in counseling psychology curriculum, research methodology, conducting scholarly research, effective mentorship, and strong teaching skills. Ability to develop a focused line of research and secure external funding.
Department: Counseling & Psychological Services, College of Education & Human Development, Atlanta campus.
Job Duties: Teach graduate courses, mentor students, conduct research, and contribute to the program.
