Assistant/Associate Professor of Physical Therapy
Summary
The Trine University Doctor of Physical Therapy program in Fort Wayne, IN, seeks an individual with expertise in teaching graduate physical therapy students. Depending on individual qualifications, opportunities exist to teach foundational topics of physical therapy practice or specific practice areas such as integumentary care, orthopedics, or cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. This is a full-time, 12-month position with a preferred start date of August 2026.
Responsibilities
As a core member of the DPT program faculty, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, advising, mentoring students, participating in scholarship and service activities, and assisting with program assessment.
Qualifications
- Terminal academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) in a field related to physical therapy
- Eligibility for licensure as a physical therapist in Indiana.
- Evidence of ability to effectively conduct research and peer-reviewed dissemination of findings.
- Demonstrated current expertise in physical therapy.
Education and/or Experience
- Terminal academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) in a field related to physical therapy
- A record of successful teaching and scholarship
- Minimum 3 years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice
