This is a 9-month tenure-track position. Primary Function of Organizational Unit: The Department of Visual and Performing Arts is housed within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. It offers a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts which are accredited by National Association of Schools of Music ( NASM ), the National Association of Schools of Theatre ( NAST ). The Department has over 297 students (68 in Music, 60 in Theatre and 169 in Visual Arts). The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences houses the Departments of Criminal Justice, English, History and Political Science, Journalism and Mass Communication, Liberal Studies, and Visual and Performing Arts. CAHSS is an academic unit that reports to the Office of the Provost/Division of Academic Affairs and enrolls more than 2,000 students and has more than 160 full-time faculty members. N.C. A&T is a public, land-grant, doctoral research institution and has been the largest historically Black university in the country for the past decade. With an enrollment of 15,275 students in Fall 2026, the university offers 59 undergraduate degree programs, 36 master's programs, and 12 doctoral programs.
