Assistant/Associate/Professor of Veterinary Medicine & Director of Professional Life Skills; OPCVM
The Director of Professional Life Skills and Associate Professor of Veterinary Medicine is a faculty position with administrative responsibilities. This role provides leadership for the Professional Life Skills curriculum, which prepares students for successful careers by developing essential professional competencies. Faculty in this role are expected to foster student learning, participate in research or scholarly activity, and engage in service to the profession and community. The Director oversees the simulated client and communications program, develops and delivers courses on professional identity, ethics, communication, and practice management, and leads assessment activities including communication OSCEs. 0.5 teaching, 0.4 service/admin, 0.1 research
Required Qualifications
- Advanced training or certification in communication, professional identity, or practice management.
- Advanced degree and/or specialty board certification in a relevant discipline.
- Prior teaching experience in a veterinary or professional program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree (Terminal degree in communications-related field may be considered).
- Veterinary clinical experience.
