The Hampton University Department of Pharmacy Practice invites applications for a highly motivated individual to serve as the Public Health specialist in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program and Public Health minor for a twelve-month, full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Hampton University School of Pharmacy (HUSOP) was granted Pre-Candidate Status for the Doctor of Pharmacy program by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) Board of Directors in January 2024.

The Hampton University School of Pharmacy seeks an outstanding individual who is committed to academic excellence, participate in an innovative educational curriculum, establish a clinical pharmacy practice for experiential training and patient care, perform scholarly activities based on clinical and/or educational endeavors, serve on College/University/Professional committees, and contribute to the University’s commitment to diversity.
Essential Responsibilities of the Position:
Teaching
- Coordinate courses in the public Heath Minor and /or PharmD curriculum.
- Provide instruction in other pharmacy courses as assigned, including the use of Canvas and ExamSoft to deliver instructional materials.
Scholarly activities
- Develop and deliver innovative educational curriculum related to Public Health, Biostatics
- Enhance instructional materials for use within courses.
- Publish a minimum of one peer-reviewed article, or comparable activity, per year.
Service
- Serve on College/University/Professional committees.
- Contribute to the University’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate (PhD or DrPH) in Public Health or a closely related field.
- Experience teaching public health or related subjects at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Demonstrate a commitment to research in public health, with a track record of peer-reviewed publications.
