Position Summary
Presently, Henry Ford + MSU is seeking up to 10 exceptional CANCER researchers with a record of innovation and high-impact research. We are assembling a team of foremost scientists on our Detroit campus who will collaborate closely with scientists and clinicians across MSU and Henry Ford Health. Ideal candidates are highly productive, mission driven, and research intensive, with a strong desire for their science to have a timely clinical and/or community impact. Successful candidates will thrive in a team-oriented culture where disciplines converge, and clinicians and scientists work together to advance the understanding of cancer biology, to accelerate the development of novel interventions, and improve cancer survivorship.
Applicants must have a PhD, MD, DO, DVM, ScD, or equivalent. Applicants at the Associate and full Professor levels should have an outstanding record of research accomplishments, including sustained extramural funding and high-impact, peer-reviewed publications. Assistant Professor level candidates should have training and a research track record consistent with a career path that will lead to extramural funding as an independent investigator. All successful candidates will be expected to maintain robust extramural funding, with federal funding as a cornerstone of their research programs and be actively engaged in unifying and elevating the Henry Ford + MSU partnership. Although all extraordinary candidates will be considered, we are especially interested in those with expertise in cancer biology, bioinformatics, immunology, precision medicine, radiobiology, epidemiology, and clinical trials. In addition, applicants focused on pancreas, brain, lung, breast, ovarian, prostate, and hematological cancers are especially encouraged to apply. We welcome applications from clinician scientists with a strong record of peer-reviewed funding.
Positions are jointly funded through Henry Ford + MSU, and candidates may be hired by Henry Ford Health or Michigan State University with a secondary, no-pay appointment at the other institution. The primary academic appointment will be based upon the candidate’s discipline, research, and interests. We are hiring at the ranks of assistant, associate, and senior scientist at Henry Ford Health and associate and full professor (tenure system) at MSU.
