Assistant Athletic Director
POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Athletic Director oversees all athletic programs in partnership with the Director of Athletics at Joliet Junior College; providing day-to-day leadership and operational support for the Director of Athletics and the Athletic Department. The Assistant Athletic Director provides leadership, oversight, and operational support to the Athletic Department while serving as a strong student advocate. This role champions the mission and goals of the Student Development Division by promoting student success, equity, and holistic development for all student-athletes.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coordination, and administrative support to the Director of Athletics and the Athletic Department.
- Oversee all transportation needs for athletic teams.
- Provide comprehensive oversight of all athletic department transportation operations.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of athletic facilities.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor contractual agreements for internal and external facility rentals.
- Coordinate comprehensive game-day schedules.
- Represent the Athletic Department by attending home and away athletic events.
- Support the Director of Athletics in fostering community engagement.
- Participate in meetings, conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.
- Potential to serve in a coaching role based on performance and approval by Director of Athletics.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
