Maintenance of accurate and up to date injury records and daily
correspondence with the coaching staff.
In conjunction with the rest of the athletic training staff,
has responsibility for NCAA mandated coverage of all off-season
conditioning sessions.
Administration:
- Oversee and maintain the aquatic therapy area of the sports
medicine department.
- Responsible for the Gatorade and Pepsi ordering for the
department.
- Responsible for the yearly certification of therapeutic
modalities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Football Athletic Trainer,
and the Associate AD for Health and Performance.
Student Intern Program:
- Assist in the coordination of the recruitment and hiring of
sports medicine student interns. Additionally, help with the
oversight of the budget for student interns, monitoring their
payment for hours worked in Sports Medicine Department.
- Assist in the supervision of a sports medicine intern
program
- Student education: Act as an instructor in the education and
training program for intern athletic trainers. Participate in
program planning, teaching, and evaluation of graduate athletic
training students.
Athletic Camps:
- Serve as one of the certified athletic trainers for camps per
CU camp policy.
- Oversee student-trainers working summer camps.
Department Responsibilities (Continual):
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of NCAA, Big 12 Conference,
University and departmental rules and regulations. The violation of
NCAA or Conference rules on the part of Athletic Department
Personnel may result in disciplinary action up to and including
termination of employment.
- Adhere to principles stated in the Athletic Department’s
Mission Statement and promote loyalty to the mission by all staff
and student-athletes under their supervision.
What You Should Know
Requires travel with the football team to all away games and
bowl/playoffs, ranging from 5-8 trips a year. Location of travel
are in the US and are determined by the NCAA and the Big 12
Conference.
What We Can Offer
- The starting salary range for this position is $65,000 -
$72,000 annually.
- Relocation assistance is available within department
guidelines.

What We Require
- Bachelor’s degree in health related field, undergraduate
collegiate athletic training experience.
- One year post graduate experience. Equivalent combination of
education and experience may substitute.
- Must be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays.

- Knowledge of medical needs, expectations, and requirements of
student-athletes to promote, maintain, and enhance their health and
well-being.
- Knowledge of injury prevention, data collection, and reporting
and injury prevention programs.
- Knowledge and support of NCAA rules and regulations.

- Proven ability to effectively work in teams.
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
- Proven effectiveness in cross-disciplinary collaboration both
inside (in other units and functions) and outside the

What We Would Like You to Have
- Master's Degree in Health or Sports Related Field.
- Two to three years of full-time athletic training experience at
the collegiate or professional level.
- NATABOC Certification.
- Experience as a professional football Athletic Trainer at a
Power 4 NCAA institution or in a NFL setting.
