JOB SUMMARY

Assistant Athletic Trainer

Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in providing an overall sports medicine program including: injury evaluations, management, treatment and rehabilitation, as well as injury prevention care and educational programs. Provide athletic training services for the athletic department including: evaluate athletes' readiness to play, advise athletes on the proper use of equipment, perform team support duties, and attend scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. Assist with teaching sports medicine courses. Attend faculty meetings and participate in all in-service educational programs designed for professional development and commencement exercises.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field. The Board of Certification, Inc., Certified Athletic Trainer. First Aid/CPR certification. Licensure with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts. Travel with teams for off-campus sports events up to 5% of the time.
