Assists the Head Athletic Trainer in their duties when necessary. 5. Coordinates and initiates the insurance claim process regarding Gannon's secondary sports accident policy. 6. Sports team coverage to be assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. 7. Performs other duties related as assigned within the scope and responsibility and requirements of the job. Required Qualifications: Education: A bachelor's degree in sports medicine or related field is required. Skills: Must be able to respond to students and others in extreme circumstances and have the ability to make quick decisions in a life-threatening situation. Must have knowledge of University, NCAA and PSAC policies, rules, and procedures. Must be able to motivate students and to work with a diverse group of people. Must have excellent verbal and interpersonal skills; organizational, supervisory and management skills; budgeting, maintenance and purchasing skills; and team building skills. Must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet scheduled deadlines. Must have the ability to assess student needs and be able to respond to those needs effectively. Licenses or Certifications: • NATABOC certified in good standing. • Commonwealth of Pennsylvania license that is active and in good standing as an athletic trainer or eligible for Pennsylvania licensure.• FBI Fingerprinting, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, and Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check.• CPR/First Aid, AED certified in good standing. • A valid driver's license that is in good standing is required.
