About Salve Regina University:
Salve Regina University competes as a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). The University sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports for men and women in addition to club and intramural teams, and a variety of recreational opportunities. Seahawk Student-Athletes distinguish themselves in the classroom as well as on the field. 50% of our student-athletes have consistently attained a GPA of 3.4 or higher over the last 6 semesters.
Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION:
To assist the Head Coach, Cross Country, in all aspects of the cross country program to include recruiting, scouting, coaching, and teaching of skills and game strategies of the sport, as directed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary duty is teaching, coaching, and mentoring student-athletes under Head Coach, Cross Country direction.
- Assist the Head Coach, Cross Country in the scouting, recruiting and retention processes as directed.
- Coaching responsibilities in practice and meet situations as determined by the Head Coach, Cross Country.
- Assist the Head Coach, Cross Country with fundraising and Alumni relation responsibilities.
- Administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Cross Country.
- Must adhere to all NCAA/NEWMAC/Salve Regina University rules and regulations.
Requirements:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- The successful candidate will possess highly developed communication and organizational skills, efficiency in computer usage and a high degree of self-motivation and dedication to all aspects of the intercollegiate program.
- Must promote and foster an environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

- Ability to work effectively in the environment of an academically demanding institution and abide by all NCAA Division III, New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference, and Salve Regina University policies.
- Knowledge and experience with, or ability to learn the technology applications (ie. Film breakdown, exchange) applicable to the position.
Preferred:
- A minimum of one to three years of collegiate cross country coaching experience is preferred.
- A strong foundation of the rules of cross country as a player or coach and a full appreciation and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations is preferred.
