Overview
The Assistant High-Performance Coach supports the physical
development and athletic performance of student-athletes across
multiple sport programs. This position assists with the
implementation of strength and conditioning programs that promote
athletic performance, injury prevention, and overall
student-athlete well-being. Responsible for compliance with all
NCAA rules and regulations. This is a part-time position, up to 15
hours per week or as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design, implement, instruct and progress sports specific
training programs to college varsity sports teams. Prepare
year-round training programs that will enhance the athleticism of
student-athletes and reduce injuries. (50%)
Prepare speed and agility sessions and pre-practice/competition
warm up protocols. Attend assigned team practices, games, and
scheduled conditioning sessions. (30%)
Perform daily/weekly/monthly equipment maintenance duties as
assigned by head coach. (10%)
Oversee work study students in the performance of their daily
tasks. (10%)
MARGINAL DUTIES:
- Perform all other duties as may be required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Sports Science related field from an
accredited institution
- Two years’ experience in the sports training field at the
Intercollegiate level preferred
- Experience training in a variety of sports
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- NSCA and USAWF Certification preferred
- Strong leadership and motivational abilities
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Competent computer literacy skills
- May be required to travel to campus during inclement
weather.
