Assistant Coach, Men's and Women's Track and Field (Athletics)
Position Highlights
The Athletics Department is dedicated to excellence in collegiate sports, building a modern model of intercollegiate athletics fostering integrity, innovation, and student-athlete success.
This is a full-time coaching position in the University of Arizona Athletics Department assisting the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country with the recruitment and coaching of student-athletes in a major Division I program. The position reports directly to the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country.
This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and travel for competition and recruiting. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement training programs for student-athletes in Throwing Events.
- Recruit both women and men's Throwers.
- Monitor academic progress of student-athletes.
- Perform administrative duties.
- Assist in all areas of the Track & Field program, including day-to-day operations.
- Oversee practice, both team and individual.
- Coordinate all Drachman Stadium facility operations.
- Budget accountability.
- Additional duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of NCAA rules pertaining to recruitment and eligibility.
- Commitment to academic and athletic success.

- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of NCAA, Big 12, and University of Arizona rules and compliance.

- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relations.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Four (4) years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Experience coaching male and female athletes.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- USATF Level II Coaching Certification.
- Experience with computers and software, including Microsoft Office.
- Four (4) or more years of coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level or international level.
